APRIL 2019 NEWSLETTER

Here it is, the end of another very busy month and headed into the next. As the saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers”. But here in the Texas Hill Country, it’s bumped up a month or so, “winter rains, bring glorious flowers”. I’ve seen pictures of the bluebonnets blooming in wild display. That’s encouraging. It’s been a rough winter and it still seems to hang on, not letting go, but this morning, I found a beautiful promise that spring is really here. This is the first of my Iris to bloom this year, and it’s a magnificent specimen. I...

MARCH 2019 NEWSLETTER

I’m sure y’all are familiar with the saying referring to the demise of Julius Caesar, “Beware the ides of March”. Well, I think we could update that and apply it, “Beware the unpredictable winter of 2018/2019”. Crazy weather cycles since last September, and I don’t think it’s just here in Texas, I think it’s been like that everywhere. I feel like hibernating for the next 6 weeks! Little Cottage Quilt Shop January 2019 Newsletter Happy New Year to y’all. Here we are again, saying good-bye to the old year and welcoming a shiny new one. A clean slate, a fresh start, a new beginning. I think it’s fabulous that each year we get to start over, make wrongs right and reevaluate our lives. A new beginning to start fresh and improve. I’ve never been big on “resolutions” though. To me they seem to be empty. A friend of mine wrote me that she doesn’t do “resolutions”, she sets “Goals” for the upcoming year. One of my nephews...

We are back in the swing of things here at the Cottage. I’m hoping that y’all had a very nice Thanksgiving with friends and family. We had a great time with our family. Our “week off” went way too fast. I didn’t get much of anything on my very long list accomplished, but we had a great visit with the kids. My oldest granddaughter has been learning to sew over the past 5 years. She is doing a great job and is so creative. Makes me hope my other 2 granddaughters will want to learn too in the future. As...
